Directions (MapQuest or General Directions)

From Seattle : Take 1-5 North, take Exit 181A (44 th Avenue), turn left at bottom of ramp, go to 200 th St SW, turn left (between Texaco & Chevon station). Go to 50 th /Cedar Valley Road , turn left. Lynnwood WorkSource is on the 3 rd floor of the Creekside Plaza building. Creekside Plaza is a new beige 3-story building on left side of road.

 

From Everett : Take 1-5 South. Take Lynnwood Exit 181, Turn right on to 196 th Street SW, go to 48 th Ave W. and Turn left, go to 200 th Street SW, and Turn right, Turn left at next light onto 50 th /Cedar Valley Rd. Continue toward the cross street of 204 th . Lynnwood Creekside Plaza is the three-story office building on the left.

 

From Bellevue : Take 405 N. Take Seattle Exit onto 1-5 South. Take Lynnwood Exit. Follow directions as coming from Everett .

 

If you take Highway 99 , you can either turn east (southbound: left, northbound, right) at 204 th St SW ("Aaron's", with a large blue sign at the corner) and continue until the road ends. Or Turn east (southbound: left, northbound, right) onto 196 th St SW. From 196 th turn right on 50 th (Wight's Nursery is on the SW corner, Todo Mexico on the SE corner), go south past 200 th and turn left into our parking lot at or before 204 th

 

Alternate route : From I-5 North or South, take Exit 179 (220 th St), Go East on 220 th until 52 nd Street (should be facing Mountlake Terrace Elementary), take a Left onto 52 nd St, follow that on down the hill, through one light and we will be on the right hand side. Just after Scriber Lake High School (it says Cedar Valley on the map).

Workshop Descriptions

1. Orientation to WorkSource Services - Great Room (1 Job Search Credit)
The most difficult part of any job search may be taking the first step. In this interactive workshop, you will gain an understanding of the changing workplace and learn about community resources that can help.  You will also learn how to use job search information and on-line resources.

2. Perfecting Applications - Great Room (1 Job Search Credit)
Successful Job Seekers know what businesses want. Learn how to complete applications, complete a master application, and learn how to submit an electronic application.  Note: We recommend that you attend Skills and Abilities prior to attending this class.

3. Effective Resumes & Cover Letters - Great Room (1 Job Search Credit)
Learn how to develop resumes and design cover letters that will attract employers and lead to more interviews.

4. Interviewing Techniques - Great Room (1 Job Search Credit)
Learn what employers expect from an interview.  Prepare effective, impressive answers to frequently asked questions.  Improve your interviewing skills.

5.Professional Networking Group (PNG) - Great Room
This group meets weekly to cover a variety of topics including job opportunities and networking with your peers.

6. Digital Literacy - Elevate America Program
The goal of this Digital Literacy Class is to introduce computer novices to basic computer features, concepts and terminology. Although there will be some lecture, the majority of the time students will be learning through hands-on experience. The primary aim of this workshop is to master skills that will allow the user to progress to Microsoft's online classes. There is no charge for this introductory course or for the more advanced independent study courses available at Microsoft's website. This course is complementary to the Windows and Office Basics Class also offered at WorkSource Everett and Lynnwood and described below.

7. Windows and Office Basics - Elevate America Program
The Windows and Office Basics Class was designed to introduce the Windows operating system and Microsoft's popular Office suite to those new to computers. This fundamental course will include giving commands using the keyboard and the mouse. Screen elements such as icons, the Taskbar and scrollbars will be explained. Windows will be minimized, maximized and restored. Files will be opened, saved and closed.
